Yan Ping is a Chinese painter. The most used paint medium is oil paint, and he was a pioneer in oil painting in the country. His dynamic and colour-filled paintwork stood out to be his identity. This study was done to identify the meaning that Yan Ping wanted to convey. The method of analyzing works is carried out through a semantic approach that emphasizes the implicit meaning by using visual images. Yan Ping is smart in applying meaningful images in his work. With his artistic style, this makes his oil paintings are well-respected and sell at a high price.
Yaxin Peng, Junior Kimwah, Mohammad Puad Bebit

This study conducts a thematic analysis of the narrative elements and technical aspects of the film Harum Malam or "Blood Flower" (2023) directed by Dain Said, based on reviews written by various critics. The analysis aims to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the film's narrative elements and technical aspects. A qualitative approach is employed, using thematic analysis with a coding system to categorize the narrative elements mentioned in the reviews. A total of 26 reviews were collected from various online sources. The study finds that reviewers have offered a range of insights into the film's narrative and technical aspects. According to the reviews, the film's premise and themes are unique and engaging. Technical aspects such as visual effects (VFX) and sound design are also praised. However, the film exhibits notable weaknesses in narrative elements, such as character development and plot structure, which impact the overall storytelling. The thematic analysis based on these reviews provides a more objective understanding of the narrative elements in "Blood Flower" and offers guidance for filmmakers aiming to create improved films in the future.
Zairul Anuar Md.
This technology has been used in various fields such as animated films, video games, sports science, and medicine. In the field of art and culture, motion capture can also be used to record traditional movements such as Zapin, a traditional Malay dance that is popular in Malaysia and Indonesia. Studying Zapin movements using motion capture provides an opportunity to learn more accurate movements and makes it easier to record and study each of the movements. This study provides benefits such as protecting, preserving, and teaching local cultural heritage to the community from generation to generation as well as providing more in-depth study material for artists and dancers. Motion capture also provides the ability to record and improve the level of movement, so that the player or dancer can understand each movement and experience more changes in the process of learning and practicing movement. In conclusion, motion capture technology has great potential in the study of movement art and culture such as Zapin, and can improve the understanding of traditional art and ensure that cultural heritage is maintained and passed down to future generations.
Sharip Zainal Bin Sagkif Shek, Rosli Sareya , M.
