Dalam pendidikan muzik di peringkat pendidikan tinggi, mahasiswa muzik menghadapi tuntutan pembelajaran yang memerlukan tahap autonomi, disiplin, dan pengurusan kendiri yang tinggi, terutamanya dalam konteks latihan dan persembahan muzik. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kajian kepustakaan untuk memperoleh maklumat mendalam mengenai konsep psikologi muzik, dengan merujuk kepada artikel jurnal, buku akademik, dan sumber dalam talian berkaitan dengan bidang psikologi muzik, efikasi kendiri, dan strategi latihan dalam pembelajaran alat muzik. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menghuraikan peranan efikasi kendiri dan strategi latihan sebagai dua konstruk utama dalam penguasaan persembahan muzik. Berdasarkan teori psikologi dan pendidikan muzik, artikel ini membincangkan bagaimana efikasi kendiri mempengaruhi penglibatan pelajar dalam latihan serta bagaimana strategi latihan berfungsi sebagai mekanisme yang menyokong perkembangan kemahiran dan prestasi muzik dalam persembahan. Artikel ini memberi pemahaman umum mengenai efikasi kendiri dan strategi latihan dalam persembahan muzik serta menyediakan landasan kajian untuk penguasaan persembahan muzik dalam kalangan mahasiswa muzik di Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Awam di Malaysia.</p> <p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p> <p><em>Music psychology plays a crucial role in understanding the music learning process, which involves the </em><em>interaction between cognitive, emotional, and behavioral aspects of students. In higher education music education, music students face learning demands that require a high level of autonomy, discipline, and self-management, particularly in the context of practice and musical performance. This study uses a literature review method to obtain in-depth information about the concept of music psychology, by referencing journal articles, academic books, and online sources related to the fields of music psychology, self-efficacy, and practice strategies in musical instrument learning. This article aims to explain the role of self-efficacy and practice strategies as two key constructs in mastering musical performance. Based on theories of psychology and music education, this article discusses how self-efficacy influences student engagement in practice and how practice strategies function as mechanisms that support the development of musical skills and performance. This article provides a general understanding of self-efficacy and practice strategies in musical performance and lays the foundation for further research on mastering musical performance among music students in public higher education institutions in Malaysia.</em></p> Resot Iggau, Muhammad Idris Bullare @ Bahari, Jinky Jane C. A quantitative cross-sectional correlational design was employed, involving 152 student-athletes recruited through snowball sampling from public and private universities. The results revealed that both resilience and time management were significantly and positively correlated with academic motivation. Multiple regression analysis indicated<br />that resilience and time management significantly predicted academic motivation. Time management<br />emerged as the stronger predictor compared to resilience. These findings suggest that while resilience functions as an important psychological resource for coping with academic and athletic demands, time management plays a more immediate and practical role in sustaining academic engagement among student-athletes. The study contributes to the literature by highlighting the differential roles of psychological and behavioural factors in academic motivation, particularly within the Malaysian context.
