Artikel-artikel yang dimuatkan dalam jurnal ini merupakan diskusi yang berkaitan dengan falsafah, teori dan interpretasi dalam bidang komunikasi serta bidang-bidang lain yang relevan pada masa kini. Jurnal ini bertujuan sebagai wadah utama dalam perkongsian hasil penyelidikan dalam bidang komunikasi dan bidang-bidang yang lain di antara penyelidik Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) dan penyelidik dari universiti luar serta mana-mana institusi penyelidikan. Indonesia, with its vast geography of 17.000 islands and a population of over 273 million, required significant support to manage the outbreaks. The Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) approach was introduced to assist in the early stages of the response. The Indonesian RCCE working group was formed in February 2020, bringing together national and international agencies, government representatives, UN organizations, and civil society to address the crisis. This research examines the role of RCCE in Indonesia’s COVID-19 response from the perspective of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), using a constructivist paradigm and a qualitative approach with case studies. Data was collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with three key informants: the founder of Lapor COVID-19, a key member of Mafindo, and the initiator of Pandemic Talks, all central to the RCCE initiative. Lapor COVID-19 provides critical information, Mafindo combats misinformation, and Pandemic Talks raises awareness about health practices. Thematic analysis of their perspectives highlights the need for strong government collaboration with stakeholders to sustain community engagement, foster cooperation, and manage the infodemic. Applying RCCE principles—such as community engagement, interagency communication, and addressing misinformation—is essential for mitigating public health crises. A moderating variable as well as dependent and independent variable are used in this investigation. This study develops a conceptual framework by utilising the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) for analysing how youth's desire to buy eco-friendly products is influenced by green value, environmental concern, green advertising, and green product knowledge. In keeping with the expanding influence of social media on consumer behaviour, the suggested framework also incorporates social media usage as a moderating factor between green advertising and green purchase intention. In accordance with the discussion to the study, young people who use social media frequently are exposed to green advertising that encourages sustainable consumption practices, which in turn affects their purchasing decisions. It is anticipated that environmental concern and green values will increase their inclination towards green products. Using social media increases the impact of green advertising since it exposes users to eco-friendly product information continuously. By laying the groundwork for further empirical research and providing guidance for marketers seeking to reach environmentally concerned youngsters through successful social media tactics, the study adds to theoretical and practical implications. Now, the two technological frontiers, which are artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR), have also been introduced to the market in order to let users have more immersive and interactive experiences. Therefore, this has demonstrated that scholars should not disregard the subject of e-commerce in Malaysia. TikTok has been chosen to study as it offers a large market potential for businesses to sell their products and services through live stream broadcast. Besides, TikTok applications also have the potential to surpass Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the reasons TikTok users choose to watch TikTok live streaming while also gaining insight into Malaysian consumers’ purchase intention. This study used quantitative methodologies through survey questionnaire and purposive sampling, a non-probability sampling technique. Regression models have been used to explain the connection between consumer purchasing intentions and motivations. Instead of internet celebrity scenarios, this research has found that substitutability of personal examination and trend setting in product search scenarios significantly influence consumers’ buying intentions. Social media platforms, such as Douyin, have become an ideal stage for the elderly to engage in online self-presentation. Drawing on self-presentation and the Uses and Gratifications theories, this study conducted in-depth interviews with the 15 elderlies in China that are aged 60 and above to explore their self-presentation behaviors on Douyin. The collected data were subsequently subjected to thematic analysis. This study found that elderly self-presentation behaviors on Douyin include front-stage performance, backstage performance, and impression management. Furthermore, regarding elderly’s motivations for self-presentation on Douyin, findings revealed three themes: passing time and entertainment, technological empowerment, and peer pressure. It is worth noting that for peer pressure, this study innovatively discovered the influence of traditional Chinese cultural values (Guanxi, Keqi, and Mianzi) on the self-presentation of the elderly in China. Lastly, this research also indicated that self-presentation among the elderly on Douyin can enhance their subjective and psychological well-being. The focus on the elderly highlights concern for vulnerable groups, especially amidst rapid digitalization and the promotion of active aging by the government and various societal sectors, emphasizing the significance and practical value of this study. Kajian ini bertujuan mengenal pasti motif di sebalik ekspresi emosi belia di media sosial, yang masih kurang diterokai dalam penyelidikan lepas. Antara motif yang dijangka termasuk perasaan lega selepas meluahkan emosi, sokongan sosial, keinginan untuk difahami serta pembentukan imej diri. Melalui temu bual mendalam dengan 9 orang informan, kajian kualitatif ini menyelami motivasi untuk menggunakan media sosial. Analisis tematik digunakan untuk menganalisis data penyelidikan. Penemuan Penemuan mendedahkan bahawa platform seperti Twitter, Whatsapp, dan Instagram berfungsi sebagai saluran untuk ekspresi emosi di kalangan pemberi maklumat. Mankala jenis kandungan emosi yang sering dikongsikan adalah yang berunsur marah, tidak puas hati dan sedih. Tindakan meluahkan emosi di media sosial memberikan rasa lega dan kepuasan, dengan pemberi maklumat sering mengalami katarsis emosi apabila selesai. Terutamanya, pemberi maklumat menyatakan keutamaan untuk tidak mahu namanya disiarkan, selalunya memilih untuk mendaftarkan akaun palsu untuk melindungi identiti mereka. Tambahan pula, mereka menggunakan selektiviti dalam menentukan penonton untuk ekspresi emosi mereka. Salah satu intervensi yang dicadangkan ialah pelaksanaan latihan literasi emosi dan digital di peringkat sekolah dan universiti, dengan tujuan memperkasakan golongan belia dengan kemahiran menyatakan emosi secara beretika dan bertanggungjawab dalam persekitaran digital. Latihan ini boleh dilaksanakan melalui pembangunan modul literasi emosi digital yang disepadukan dalam subjek seperti Pendidikan Moral, Kesihatan Mental atau Teknologi Maklumat dan Komunikasi (ICT). Di samping itu, bengkel interaktif bersama kaunselor atau pakar kesihatan mental boleh dianjurkan, memberi tumpuan kepada teknik pengurusan tekanan, komunikasi berempati dan penggunaan jurnal digital sebagai medium ekspresi emosi secara sihat dan beretika.<br /><br /><strong>Abstract<br /></strong><span style="font-size: 0.875rem;">Social media has become an important platform for today's youth, serving as a medium for content creation, particularly emotional expression. Most existing studies focus on the forms and effects of emotional expression, but the internal motives behind such expression, especially in everyday social interactions, remain understudied. This research aims to identify the motives behind youth's emotional expression on social media, an area that has been underexplored in previous studies. Among the anticipated motives are feelings of relief after expressing emotions, social support, the desire to be understood, and self-image formation. Through in-depth interviews with nine informants, this qualitative study delves into the motivations for using social media. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the research data. The findings reveal that platforms such as Twitter, WhatsApp, and Instagram serve as channels for emotional expression among the informants. The types of emotional content most frequently shared include anger, dissatisfaction, and sadness. Expressing emotions on social media provides a sense of relief and satisfaction, with informants often experiencing emotional catharsis afterward. Notably, the informants emphasized their preference for anonymity, often creating fake accounts to protect their identities. Additionally, they are selective in choosing their audience for emotional expression. One proposed intervention is the implementation of emotional and digital literacy training at the school and university levels, aimed at empowering youth with the skills to express emotions ethically and responsibly in digital environments. This training could be delivered through the development of digital emotional literacy modules integrated into subjects such as Moral Education, Mental Health, or Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Semasa proses haid atau ‘datang bulan’ terdapat pelbagai faktor yang menjadi kekangan dalam pengurusan haid seperti kekurangan air bersih dan juga kemudahan untuk memiliki tuala wanita. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini melihat apakah cabaran yang dihadapi oleh golongan remaja wanita dalam kalangan masyarakat Bajau Laut di Semporna, Sabah dari aspek cabaran literasi media digital bagi membolehkan mereka mempelajari dan mempraktikkan teknik pengurusan yang betul untuk penjagaan kendiri mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan kaedah temu bual secara mendalam terhadap lapan orang informan yang memenuhi kriteria persampelan bertujuan iaitu remaja yang sudah akil baligh dan masih tinggal di dalam Lepa. Dengan menggunakan analisis naratif dan kerangka literasi media digital kajian ini mendapati ekonomi keluarga yang rendah menyebabkan informan tidak berupaya untuk membeli gadget. Keadaan ini mengekang informan dalam mencari informasi berkaitan haid dan pengurusan yang betul, sebaliknya informan lebih bergantung kepada informasi secara fizikal (face to face) daripada NGO atau mana-mana persatuan yang datang memberikan bantuan dan informasi dari keluarga serta rakan. Kajian ini mencadangkan agar semua pihak termasuk pihak kerajaan dan NGO untuk bersama-sama dalam menggembleng tenaga bagi memastikan masalah miskin haid ini dapat dikurangkan dari semasa ke semasa.
