Abstract

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti tahap kecerdasan emosi dan komitmen organisasi dalam kalangan guru-guru sekolah menengah. Kajian juga bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti perbezaan tahap kecerdasan emosi dan komitmen organisasi berdasarkan pengalaman mengajar serta mengenal pasti hubungan antara kecerdasan emosi dengan komitmen organisasi dalam kalangan guru-guru sekolah menengah di daerah Keningau. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui kaedah tinjauan dan menggunakan instrumen soal selidik. Item soal selidik bagi kecerdasan emosi menggunakan Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Test (SREIT) manakala soal selidik bagi komitmen organisasi adalah berdasarkan soal selidik komitmen organisasi Meyer et al. (1993). Responden kajian ini melibatkan seramai 317 orang guru yang telah dipilih secara rawak mudah. Analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahawa tahap kecerdasan emosi guru-guru adalah tinggi, begitu juga dengan tahap komitmen organisasi guru. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan bagi pemboleh ubah kecerdasan emosi dan komitmen organisasi dengan pengalaman mengajar. Analisis ujian korelasi Pearson menunjukkan hubungan positif yang lemah antara pemboleh ubah kecerdasan emosi dan komitmen.
