BEBAN KERJA DAN BURNOUT DALAM KALANGAN PEKERJA SOSIAL DI NEGARA CHINA: SATU PERBINCANGAN

Kerja sosial di negara China merupakan satu-satu kerja yang sangat mencabar. Ini kerana bidang ini masih baru di negara China. Dengan bilangan pekerja sosial yang terhad, mereka terpaksa menjawat jawatan pekerja sosial di beberapa buah organisasi dan membuat kerja yang bertindih-tindih pada masa yang sama. Ini menyebabkan mereka terlebih beban kerja dan mengalami burnout. Keadaan ini menjadi sangat ketara semasa pandemik COVID-19, di mana pekerja sosial ditempatkan di kawasan yang dilaporkan mempunyai kes-kes COVID-19. Pekerja sosial perlu menjalankan tugas mereka dengan sumber yang sangat berkurangan semasa pandemik. Pekerja sosial yang sudah mengalami burnout terpaksa lagi menyokong orang yang sedang bergumul dengan masalah akibat COVID-19 dari segi ekonomi, psikologi dan fizikal. Mereka bukan sahaja bimbang dengan risiko yang dihadapi oleh diri sendiri, pada masa yang sama perlu menjaga kebajikan kliennya. Halangan-halangan infrastruktur dan kecelikan teknologi juga menyusahkan lagi pekerja sosial. Dalam perkhidmatan kominiti pula, dengan transformasi di negara China, Kerajaan negara China sangat mementingkan pemupukan bakat penduduk setempat. Justeru itu banyak projek dan program telah dirancangkan untuk mereka. Kerja-kerja sebelum, semasa dan selepas projek semuanya memerlukan perkhidmatan pekerja sosial. Dalam keadaan yang tidak cukup kakitangan, pekerja sosial mengalami keletihan bekerja. Keletihan bekerja yang berlanjutan akan membawa kepada burnout. Kajian perlu dijalankan kepada sasaran tersebut untuk mendapatkan punca dan penyelesaian masalah supaya bidang kerja sosial masih mendapat sambutan yang tinggi. Strategi dan langkah-langkah perlu diadakan untuk menyelesaikan keletihan bekerja dan burnout dalam kalangan pekerja sosial di negara China.
