SOUTHEAST ASIA PSYCHOLOGY JOURNAL publishes on-line articles related to psychology covering topics relevant to general issues or any of the 49 areas listed by SAPJ; click here for the full list of SAPJ code

SOUTHEAST ASIA PSYCHOLOGY JOURNAL, the publisher, and the Editors assume no responsibility for the statements in the articles; authors carry the scientific and legal responsibilities of their own articles.

The manuscript which is submitted to the journal must not contain previously published material or material under consideration for publication elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, the authors attest that the article is not currently under review or published elsewhere (including journal, newspapers, or websites). Accepted manuscripts become property of SOUTHEAST ASIA PSYCHOLOGY JOURNAL and may not republished.

All manuscripts will undergo a blind peer review. A final review and subsequent decisions relative to publication will be made by SOUTHEAST ASIA PSYCHOLOGY JOURNAL editors.

Responsibilities of the Author(s)

By submitting a manuscripts for publication, each author having made a substantial contribution in the conception and design of the study, the analysis and interpretation of the results, and writing of the paper, and has approved the final submitted version of the paper. Each author thus also acknowledge responsibility for the integrity of the manuscript, assures the originality of the manuscript, and guarantees that duplicate or redundant publications or submissions have not occurred. The editors reserve the right to request the original data obtained in the investigation. Authors are responsible for all at statement made in the text.

It is the responsibility of the author(s) to ensure that papers are written in clear, concise English in APA style. The journal editors are not prepared to undertake major corrections of language. Manuscripts that do not adhere to the journals instructions will be returned without being read. The Editors may suggest editorial corrections and additional changes with the knowledge and approval of corresponding author. Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author by E-mail as a PDF file.

Reviewers are not expected to correct or copy edit manuscripts. Language correction is not part of the peer-review process and it is the responsibility of the author to ensure the papers are written in a clear and concise manner

Types of Papers

Materials published in journals may be classified into a variety of categories. Although its contents may be influenced to a large extent by the type of material submitted to the journal, the editor is chiefly responsible for the types of papers to be published, bearing in mind the need for a balanced mix. The paper types are also dependent on the editorial policy, and the mission and scope of the individual journal.

Types of paper include:

  1. Original article
  2. Review reports
  3. Editorial letters
  4. Short communications

Manuscript Submission

General Format

  1. Please ensure the tittle, theme and content of manuscripts should provide a forum for inquires on psychological related issue.
  2. Authors are required to submit the manuscript in Microsoft Word document with a maximum text-body between 5,000-7000 words only (excluding references, appendix etc).
  3. Your manuscript should include an abstract of no more than 250 words and include three to five keywords.
  4. To address plagiarism concerns, it is essential that your manuscript undergoes a Turnitin analysis and demonstrates a similarity index below 30%.
  5. Please review and adhere these guidelines for the submission of your manuscript. Any manuscripts that do not adhere to the submission guidelines will not be considered for review.
  6. All SAPJ manuscripts should be prepared in MALAY and ENGLISH only.
  7. APA 7th Edition format for references is required for all manuscripts. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to reject any manuscripts that do not comply with the general format.
  8. Authors are expected to carefully proofread their work before submission.
  9. The editorial board reserves the right to make editorial changes to any manuscript accepted for publication to enhance clarity and style.
  10. The editorial board will not edit submitted manuscripts for style or language. Thus authors need to make sure the accuracy of language before submitting them to journal.
