ABSTRACT At the end of 2019, the world was shocked by the emergence of a dangerous viral disease, called the 2019. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease as a pandemic. Malaysia has issued instructions for the Movement Control Order (MCO) to be implemented in stages starting March 18, 2020, followed by the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), and the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) all over the country. Following this movement control order, all social and cultural activities including conventional creative industries are cancelled immediately. Throughout this pandemic period, music art players in Sabah have taken the initiative to work virtually online. The question is, what kind of music performance art is suitable to be initiated virtually? After two years, on April 1, 2022, the government has taken steps to enter the Endemic Transition Phase of COVID-19. This means the creative industry is allowed to work conventionally again. Looking at this change in mechanism, is the music performance in Sabah still relevant to be carried out virtually or conventionally? The observation results show that musical performance art activities are still relevant post Covid-19, but others have returned to conventional.
