Journal History

The International Journal on E-Learning Practices (IJELP) (ISSN 2289 - 4926) is the latest flagship journal of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). The journal was approved by the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) on 22 July 2013. IJELP is the 12th journal of UMS since its establishment on 24 November 1994. The journal is managed by The Faculty of Psychology and Education (FPP), UMS (formerly known as The School of Education and Social Development (SESD)). The journal has recently been indexed in MyJurnal since August 2023.

The IJELP is published annually. The first issue (Volume 1, Issue 1), was published in January 2014. The second issue was rolled out in July 2014. Subsequent issues were published in January and July every year. Starting 2021, the journal has been published annually in December. The journal aspires to be scopus-indexed after 10 periodic issues are published. IJELP is an online open access journal aimed at disseminating and sharing of e-learning practices to worldwide audience. Initial subscriptions to this journal is FREE.

IJELP publishes the very best empirical and multidisciplinary work on e-learning practices in Malaysia as well as other parts of the world, with a particularly emphasis on the region of South East Asia and Asia. IJELP accepts manuscripts in the area and sub-area of e-learning such as the following:
