Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

GUIDE FOR CONTRIBUTORS

MANUSCRIPTS

Submitted manuscripts in the Malay language or English must be original contributions, and have not been previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. They should be typed double-space with wide margins to allow for editorial comments. The first page of the manuscript should contain the title, authors name, postal address, e-mail address and the authors affiliation. The editors would reply to the authors on the status of the submitted manuscript within three months upon receipt of the manuscript. While the manuscript is being processed for publication, writers must be sure to inform the editor of any change in address. Editors reserve the right to reject, accept and edit manuscripts accordingly. All further queries should be directed to the Chief Editor.


SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS

Two hardcopies of the manuscript with a softcopy stored in a CD should be

All writers will receive a reply upon receiving of the manuscript. If there is no reply after seven working days please contact the Chief Editor. The editorial board is not responsible for the postage or handling of manuscripts. All manuscripts will be reviewed by the Editorial Board and at least one independent reviewer (blind-reviewed). Decisions regarding the publication of manuscripts are based on their recommendations.


ABSTRACTS

Include an abstract in English of 100-200 words for all manuscripts. Abstracts should include five keywords.


REFERENCES

The journal requires all contributions to follow the American Psychological Association (APA) manual style guide. Endnotes are only recommended if absolutely necessary to give further explanation. Samples, maps, illustrations, tables and other essential information should be presented in appendices.

NOTA KEPADA PENYUMBANG

MANUSKRIP

Manuskrip dalam bahasa Melayu atau bahasa Inggeris yang diserahkan untuk diterbitkan dalam jurnal ini hendaklah karya asli yang belum pernah diterbitkan, atau yang tidak dihantar untuk pertimbangan oleh mana-mana penerbitan yang lain. Manuskrip harus ditaip langkau dua baris dengan ruang besar di kedua-dua tepi untuk memudahkan penilai membuat ulasan. Pada halaman pertama manuskrip harus dinyatakan tajuk, nama pengarang, alamat surat-menyurat, alamat e-mel dan institusi atau nama tempat kerja penulis. Pengarang yang manuskripnya telah “diterima atau tidak” untuk penerbitan akan dimaklumkan oleh Ketua Editor dalam tempoh tiga bulan. Semasa manuskrip dalam proses penilaian, penulis bertanggungjawab memaklumkan editor tentang perubahan alamatnya. Editor berhak untuk menyunting manuskrip yang difikirkan wajar.


PENGHANTARAN MANUSKRIP

Dua salinan makalah yang dicetak (hardcopy) bersama sekeping CD yang mengandungi softcopy hendaklah dialamatkan kepada:

Ketua Editor akan memaklumkan kepada penyumbang melalui e-mel sebaik sahaja manuskripnya sampai kepada penerbit. Jika penyumbang tidak menerima sebarang berita tentang makalah yang dikirim selepas tujuh hari bekerja, sila hubungi Ketua Editor kembali. Manuskrip yang diterima akan diwasit sidang editor dan sekurang-kurangnya oleh seorang penilai bebas. Keputusan untuk menerbitkannya bergantung kepada penilaian daripada penilai bebas. Pihak editorial Gendang Alam tidak bertanggungjawab bagi makalah yang tidak sampai kepada Ketua Editor.


ABSTRAK

Sediakan abstrak sepanjang 100 hingga 200 patah perkataan dalam bahasa Inggeris (sama ada artikel tersebut dalam bahasa Melayu atau bahasa Inggeris). Sediakan sebanyak lima patah kata kunci di bahagian akhir makalah anda.


RUJUKAN

Semua sumbangan harus mengikut gaya rujukan American Psychological Association (APA). Nota hujung hanya digunakan sebagai penjelasan lanjut sahaja. Semua pensampelan, nota teknikal, peta, gambar, rajah, ilustrasi, daftar dan keterangan lain yang penting harus dinyatakan dalam Lampiran. Setiap lampiran harus diberikan judul yang boleh dirujuk dalam teks.
