ABSTRACT
This study aimed to identify the factors influencing the undergraduate student’s decision to choose music education as their pathway in pursuing their study at the bachelor’s degree program. Thirty participants enrolled in this study are from the Bachelor of Music Education, Conservatory of Music,
Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia. This study intends to examine the elements that influence students' decisions to pursue a profession in music instruction and to investigate the impact of personal interest and motivation on the decision-making process. This study identified the primary factors influencing students' decisions to persist in the music education pathway and analyzed the effects of personal interest and motivation on these choices. The factors are individual, personal reasons, career choice, experience-related, and institutional influences. Consequently, the results of this research will offer significant insights into the determinants that motivate students to engage in music education programs.
