Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan mengenal pasti hubungan dan pengaruh kepimpinan instruksional, kecerdasan emosi dan personaliti guru besar terhadap prestasi kerja guru sekolah rendah di Sabah. Kajian ini menggunakan reka bentuk kuantitatif dengan soal selidik berstruktur sebagai instrumen utama untuk mengumpul data daripada 419 orang responden yang dipilih menggunakan kaedah pensampelan rawak berstrata dan rawak mudah. Data Kajian diperoleh menggunakan soal selidik tertutup mengandungi 88 item dianalisis menggunakan kaedah statistik deskriptif dan inferensi bagi mengenal pasti hubungan dan pengaruh pembolehubah yang dikaji. Analisis dijalankan menggunakan perisian Statistical Packages For Social Sciences (SPSS) versi 22.0. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pemboleh ubah peramal kajian kepimpinan instruksional, kecerdasan emosi dan personaliti mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan secara positif dengan pemboleh ubah bersandar prestasi kerja pada tahap tinggi. Ujian Korelasi Pearson bagi ketiga-tiga pemboleh ubah menunjukkan wujud hubungan signifikan kepimpinan instruksional (r=0.725, p<0.05), kecerdasan emosi (r = 0.750, p< 0.05) dan personaliti (r = 0.751, p< 0.05) dengan prestasi kerja guru sekolah rendah di Sabah. Analisis regresi menunjukkan ketiga-tiga pemboleh ubah peramal memberi pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi kerja pada kadar 56.4 peratus. Dapatan ini menunjukkan bukti empirikal kepimpinan instruksional, kecerdasan emosi dan personaliti dalam kalangan guru besar perlu ditingkatkan untuk meningkatkan prestasi kerja guru selaras dengan era globalisasi dan meletakkan pendidikan Malaysia bertaraf dunia. Berdasarkan data empirikal yang diperolehi, kajian ini boleh dijadikan panduan oleh semua pihak yang terlibat secara langsung atau tidak langsung dalam bidang pendidikan dan penyelidikan dalam meningkatkan prestasi kerja guru di sekolah rendah.

(This article aimed to identify the relationship and effects of instructional leadership, emotional intelligence and headmaster’s personality towards primary school’s teachers’ job performance in Sabah. This study employed a quantitative research design using a structured questionnaire as the main instrument to collect data from 419 respondents selected through stratified random and simple random sampling methods. The data were obtained using a closed-ended questionnaire consisting of 88 items and were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods to determine the relationships and effects among the studied variables. The data was analysed using Statistical Packages For Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 22.0. The findings shows that the instructional leadership, emotional intelligence and personalities study forecaster variables bears positively significant  relationship with dependent variables of job’s perfomance  at high level. Thus, Pearson Correlation Test for the variables showed that there are significant positive connection of instructional leadership (r=0.725, p<0.05), emotional intelligence  (r=0.750, p<0.05) headmaster’s personality (r=0.751,p<0.05) with primary schools teacher’s job’s performance in Sabah. The regression analysis also showed  that all the study forecaster variables has significantly affected  the teacher’s performance at the rate of 56.4 percent. Hence, the finding showed empirical evidence of instructional leadersip, emotional intelligence and personalities among the headmasters be compelled to be elevated in order  to improve  teacher’s  job’s perfomance in accordance to the globalisation era which has placed the education in Malaysia as world class education. In regards of the empirical data as discussed, this study could be used as a guide by party of interest in the field of educations or studies to improve teacher’s job’s performance in primary school.)
