Recognizing the importance of maintaining a good level of physical fitness, it is appropriate to conduct fitness tests to assess the physical fitness levels of first-year Sports Science students according to age and gender. A total of 78 students, comprising 51 male students and 27 female students, participated in the physical fitness tests. The fitness assessment consisted of six test battery items. All six test batteries assessed various aspects of physical fitness, including speed, agility, cardiovascular endurance, leg power, and flexibility. The findings indicated that physical fitness norms could be established based on gender. In addition, the scores obtained showed that the students' overall fitness levels were at a moderate level. These fitness norms can be used as a performance standard for students entering the Sports Science programme at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
