Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of children's fine motor and cognitive skills using playdoughactivities. In this study, a one-group pre-post test design using a quasi-experimental method was used. The treatment group consisted of 15 preschool students aged 6 years as a study sample. Data were collected using pre-test, post-test, and observation procedures. The results of the study show that there is an increase in the average score of fine motor skills from 60.53% percent to 89.87% which is an increase of 27.47%. Cognitive skills also showed an increase in the average score  from  66.53%  to95.20%.  The  results  of  this  study  show  that  playing  playdough  has  a positive effect on the development of children's fine motor and cognitive skills. Therefore, the use of playdough can be expanded as one of the learning activities in preschool education classes.
