Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) has become a beacon of splendour and pride for the state of Sabah in education sector. This proves that Sabah can provide public education institutions for the Sabah’s’ people to obtain a good education that is on par with other states. One of UMS’s challenge in upholding its name on the Malaysian and international scene is through publication. Of course, impactful publications are UMS’ best to showcase its existence as one of the best educational institutions in Malaysia. Therefore, this study aims to discuss publications in the field of social sciences based on records obtained from the Scopus database from the initial establishment of UMS until the year 2021. The study uses bibliometric analysis by working on 1,308 publication records in the Scopus database through keyword searches. The study found that publications in the social science field for UMS still need to be worked on in publishing manuscripts into Scopus-indexed journals. Research mapping via VOSviewer reveals that most researchers in the social science cluster keyword records are in
the economics, psychology, literature, finance, and geography clusters. However, it is very limited in the cluster of history, culture, religion, and others to create a significant cluster with other clusters. This study is a publication report obtained through the Scopus database, which aims to see the momentum of researchers in publishing their manuscripts in Scopus-indexed journals. Their next stage of producing quality research
