Abstract

Dapatan menunjukkan motivasi ditingkatkan menerusi promosi orientasi tugasan.

To understand the motivation of young people more deeply, emphasis needs to be placed on the importance of sports and Physical Education during schooling as well as their health needs. This study examined the relationship between participation motivation (reasons for participation) and goal orientation achievement (how success is interpreted) within the Physical Education environment. In this cross-sectional study, rural school students (n = 412) completed the Participation Motivation Questionnaire (PMQ) to assess their motives for participating in sports and physical activities and the Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire (TEOSQ) to assess goal orientation achievement. Correlation analysis revealed a clear relationship between task orientation and intrinsic motivational patterns, such as teamwork and skill development, whereas ego orientation was more strongly associated with extrinsic motivations, such as status or recognition. The findings indicated that motivation can be enhanced through the promotion of task orientation.
