Thank you for considering the Borneo International Journal of Education (BIJE) as a venue for your scholarly work. Authors are encouraged to review the journal's scope, editorial policies, and submission requirements carefully before submitting a manuscript.

Before You Submit

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published previously.
  • The manuscript is not currently under consideration by another journal.
  • The manuscript is relevant to the scope of BIJE.
  • All authors have approved the manuscript and agreed to its submission.
  • The manuscript complies with BIJE's formatting and referencing requirements.
  • All sources are properly cited and acknowledged.
  • Any potential conflicts of interest have been disclosed.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the following requirements:

  • Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Melayu.
  • The manuscript should include a clear and concise title, abstract, keywords, main text, and references.
  • The abstract should accurately summarise the purpose, methodology, key findings, and implications of the study.
  • Keywords should appropriately represent the main focus of the manuscript.
  • Tables and figures should be clearly numbered, titled, and referred to in the main text.
  • References and in-text citations must be presented consistently according to the journal's prescribed referencing style.
  • Authors should ensure that the manuscript has been carefully proofread for language, clarity, coherence, and academic presentation.

Submission & Peer Review

All manuscripts must be submitted through the BIJE online submission system. Authors are required to register or log in to the journal platform and complete all required submission information.

All submissions will undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their suitability for the journal's scope, scholarly quality, originality, and compliance with submission requirements.

Manuscripts that meet the initial editorial requirements will proceed to a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

Editorial decisions will be based on the manuscript's scholarly quality, methodological rigour, originality, relevance, and contribution to the field of education.

Publication Ethics & Research Integrity

BIJE is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and responsible scholarly practice.

Authors are expected to ensure that:

  • The submitted work is original and free from plagiarism.
  • Data and research findings are reported accurately and honestly.
  • Fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and inappropriate manipulation of data are strictly avoided.
  • All individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions are appropriately recognised as authors.
  • Relevant sources are properly acknowledged and cited.
  • Any potential conflicts of interest are disclosed.
  • Research involving human participants complies with relevant institutional and ethical requirements.
  • Appropriate ethical approval and informed consent have been obtained where applicable.

Open Access & Publication Fee

BIJE is an open-access journal, providing immediate and free access to its published scholarly content to support the wider dissemination of educational research and knowledge.

BIJE does not charge authors any Article Processing Charge (APC) or publication fee. Submission, peer review, and publication are provided without charge to authors.
