The journal welcomes high-quality manuscripts that demonstrate originality, methodological rigour, theoretical significance, and practical relevance while promoting evidence-based educational innovation and lifelong learning within local, regional, and global contexts.

BIJE publishes research covering all levels of education, including early childhood, primary, secondary, technical and vocational, higher education, and continuing professional and lifelong learning. The journal embraces a broad range of educational disciplines, including, but not limited to, educational management and leadership, curriculum and instruction, teacher education, language education, science and mathematics education, STEM education, educational technology, environmental education, rural and indigenous education, early childhood education, physical and health education, educational psychology, assessment and evaluation, inclusive education, educational policy, culture of learning, and innovations in teaching and learning. Interdisciplinary and cross-cultural studies that address contemporary educational challenges, sustainability, digital transformation, educational equity, and educational improvement are particularly encouraged. Manuscripts are accepted in English or Malay, reflecting the journal's commitment to promoting scholarly communication and knowledge exchange across diverse educational communities.

BIJE adopts a continuous publishing model, whereby accepted manuscripts are published online individually immediately after successfully completing the editorial assessment, double-blind peer-review, copyediting, proofreading, and production processes. This publishing approach enables the rapid dissemination of high-quality scholarly research while reducing publication delays and ensuring that accepted articles become immediately accessible to the academic community. All articles published throughout the year are subsequently compiled into the journal's designated issues and volumes.
