Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The manuscript falls within the aims and scope of BIJE.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • All authors have approved the submitted version.
  • The manuscript complies with the journal's ethical and editorial requirements.
  • The manuscript has been prepared using the BIJE formatting requirements.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • Follow guidelines Note to Author.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

The Borneo International Journal of Education (BIJE) welcomes high-quality scholarly manuscripts that contribute to educational research, theory, policy, and practice. The journal accepts submissions in English and Bahasa Melayu and publishes the following manuscript categories:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Conceptual Papers

Authors are required to ensure that manuscripts are original, unpublished, not under consideration elsewhere, and comply with internationally recognised standards of publication ethics.

Before submission, authors should prepare:

  • A separate Title Page containing author information;
  • An Anonymous Manuscript for double-blind peer review;
  • A manuscript formatted according to BIJE requirements, including APA 7th edition referencing, appropriate manuscript structure, tables and figures, and declarations where applicable.

Manuscripts must be submitted through the BIJE Online Journal System (OJS). Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submission files, metadata, references, and formatting requirements are complete before submission.
