Peer Review Process & Timeline

Peer Review Process

The Borneo International Journal of Education (BIJE) applies a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and academic integrity of all manuscripts submitted to the journal.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the Editorial Office. The screening assesses the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, completeness of submission files, originality, and adherence to publication ethics.

2. Editorial Assessment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are evaluated by the assigned editor to determine their academic quality, originality, methodological soundness, and suitability for external review.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

Each eligible manuscript is normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. The identities of the authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process.

4. Editorial Decision

Following the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may be:

• Accept Submission
• Revisions Required
• Resubmit for Review
• Decline Submission

5. Revision Process

Authors must submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed.

6. Final Decision

The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor after considering the reviewers’ reports, the authors’ revisions, and the journal’s editorial standards.
