Aims and Scope

The Borneo International Journal of Education (BIJE) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing scholarly knowledge, research, and practice across the broad field of education.

BIJE provides a platform for researchers, academics, educators, policymakers, and practitioners to disseminate high-quality empirical, theoretical, conceptual, and review-based scholarship that contributes to educational development at local, national, regional, and international levels.

The journal welcomes innovative, interdisciplinary, and contextually relevant research across diverse areas of education, including but not limited to:

Publication Model and Frequency

BIJE adopts a continuous publication model, enabling accepted articles to be published online once the editorial, peer-review, and production processes have been completed.

The journal publishes one volume per year, with articles published continuously throughout the year within the current volume. This model facilitates the timely dissemination of scholarly research without requiring accepted articles to wait for the completion of a conventional issue.

All published articles form part of the journal's official scholarly record and are made openly accessible to readers.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to BIJE undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal's scope, scholarly quality, originality, and compliance with submission requirements.

Manuscripts that meet the initial editorial requirements will proceed to a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

Editorial decisions are made based on the scholarly quality, methodological rigour, originality, relevance, and contribution of the manuscript to the field of education.

Open Access and Publication Fee

BIJE is an open-access journal committed to promoting the widest possible dissemination of scholarly knowledge. All published articles are freely accessible online, allowing readers worldwide to read and benefit from the journal's scholarly content without subscription barriers.

BIJE does not charge authors any Article Processing Charge (APC) or publication fee. There are no fees for manuscript submission, peer review, or publication.

This open-access and no-fee publishing model reflects BIJE's commitment to supporting inclusive and equitable access to scholarly publishing and educational knowledge.

Language of Publication

BIJE accepts manuscripts written in English or Bahasa Melayu. Authors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are written clearly, accurately, and in an appropriate academic style.

Manuscripts should be carefully proofread prior to submission to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency of language.
